Wikipedia and copyright

Hello AdesamSA! English language

I see that much of your editing has consisted of attempts to improve English. Unfortunately, your grasp of English is not up to that task, and in many cases you have replaced perfectly good English with faulty attempts at English, so you really should not try to correct or improve other editors' English. To give just one example, "element of a being time" doesn't make any sense at all in English. JBW (talk) 12:51, 11 January 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia does not give preference to any national variety of English over others. In some cases there is a good reason for using one national variety; for example in the article Winston Churchill it makes sense to use British English, while in the article San Fransisco it makes sense to use US English. However, when there is no such specific reason for preferring one version, it is not acceptable to change content of an article to comply with one's own preferences. I have now discovered that in the article Nalanda University you changed the wording of a quotation. Even if your change had corrected the English (which it didn't) that would not have been an acceptable change, as a quotation should show what the quoted person actually said, not what you, I, or anyone else thinks they should have said. I see that you have continued to try to correct English in an article since I posted my message about doing so, above. Unfortunately, most of the changes you have made have made things worse, and only one was actually an improvement. To give just one example, you replaced "The university was established as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, starting functioning on 24 May 1875", which is perfectly good English, with "The university was established as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, started functioning on 24 May 1875", which isn't. The version which you created is not a sentence. If you want a technical explanation of why, it has two finite verbs, "was established" and "started" just placed one after the other, with no conjunction to make them the verbs of separate clauses. If you have no idea what that means, then please just accept that your understanding of English grammar is not good enough for you to be able to correct English in articles, and don't try to do so.
